Dominique Cornin is a small domain in Mâcon and long owned by father Dominique and son Romain Cornin. Together they manage their 10 hectares of vineyards around the village of Chaintré in the southernmost point of the Maconnais, where it joins the Beaujolais. In 1998, they stopped using chemical pesticides. After being successful with an experiment, they switched completely to organic and biodynamic viticulture in 2003. There should be, according to their method, a natural microbiological balance in the soil. Because of this method, their wines offer great diversity and their different "terroir" is beautifully expressed. One also uses here during vinification only natural yeasts naturally present on the grape, rather than the industrial ones often seen. This gives the different vineyards all their typical signature and they are also very distinct in character.
