    This Grenache is bright purple in color. It is an exceptional wine and has aromas of rich red fruit, alongside notes of spice and earth. A delicate wine with a velvety texture, balanced acidity and a long finish. The wine pairs well with a range of dishes and provides a light and enjoyable drinking experience. The wine underwent 7 days of fermentation on skins at 26oC, followed by full malolactic fermentation and approximately 12 months of aging in French oak barrels.
    The winter leading up to the 2016 harvest began with a heavy snowstorm that provided the vines with the coldest conditions. During the rest of the winter, little precipitation fell. In early May, a rainstorm compensated for the lack of precipitation, allowing the vine to raise in moist soil. For the rest of the season, the weather was moderate, even cooler than average, with no extreme conditions. The fruit ripened evenly and the harvest was of very high quality.

      The grapes come from vineyards scattered throughout the Upper Galilee mountain range, the region north of Haifa, one of Israel's best wine regions. Situated 800 meters above sea level and topped with mostly shale, these vineyards produce distinctive and incredibly mineral wines. Each vineyard has its own distinct terroir and microclimate which allows winemaker Micha Vaadia to create stunningly good assemblages. Established as a joint venture between the world-renowned Golan Heights Winery & Kibbutz Yiron, Galil Mountain Winery maintains the delicate balance between tradition and technology.
